All Councillors and the Mayor can act as a Commissioner for Oaths.
A Commissioners for Oaths is empowered to:
- administer oaths
- take and receive affirmations, or declarations
- attest (be witness to) oaths, affirmations, or declarations
Oaths (or solemn statements) confirm that a written statement is true (typically for use in court, estate, or land title transactions).
Residents wishing to use the service of a Commissioner of Oaths should contact the Town Administration Office to arrange an appointment.
