Council Committees, and other Bodies are established by Ministerial Order or by enactment (Council Committee Bylaw 06 / 2023) and are created to voice and represent various civic and community interests within the Town.
Council Committees examine and review specific matters (pertinent to their remit) and provide recommendations or information to Council.
Council Committees cannot make decisions or act independently of Town Council.
Councillors are appointed to all Council Committees, and other bodies (Societies / Commissions / Boards / Associations).

Council Committee Bylaw 06 / 2023
Residents are encouraged to get involved in our community by serving on those committees or bodies that are open to volunteer participation, namely the following:
- Special Events & Cultural Committee (appointed per event as required)
- Bowden & District Cemetery Association
- Bowden Public Library Board
