Council Committees and Boards

Council Committees, and other Bodies are established by Ministerial Order or by enactment (Council Committee Bylaw 05 / 2021) and are created to voice and represent various civic and community interests within the Town.

Council Committees examine and review specific matters (pertinent to their remit) and provide recommendations or information to Council.

Council Committees cannot make decisions or act independently of Town Council.

Councillors are appointed to every Council Committee, or Body.

If you require detailed information on the roles and functions of each Committee, please refer to the Council Committee Bylaw or alternatively the summary information provided on the Volunteer Application Form.

Residents are encouraged to get involved in our community by serving on those Committees that are open to volunteer participation, namely the:

  • Special Events & Cultural Committee
  • Bowden & District Cemetery Association
  • Economic Development Committee
  • Bowden Public Library Board
  • Emergency Advisory Committee

If you would like to become a voluntary member and participate on a Committee, please download and complete the Volunteer Application Form (found within the "Resources and Useful Links" tab opposite).
