Municipal General Election 2021

Further to the Local Authorities Election Act (RSA2000) Chapter L-21, Section 26, the Town of Bowden Returning Officer is now accepting nominations of candidates for the Municipal General Election to be held on Monday, October 18, 2021.

There will be ONE polling station: the Bowden Friendship Centre located at 2133 - 18 Ave - open for voting from 10am to 8pm.

Elections will be held for the following offices within the jurisdiction of the Town of Bowden.

Candidates are required to contact the Town Administration Office to arrange an appointment with the Returning Officer and to pick up a Candidate Information Package and the official nomination application forms.

The nomination period will close at 12 noon on Monday September 20, 2021 (Nomination Day).

Candidates are encouraged to return their completed forms (to the Returning Officer) well in advance of this deadline (please note that the date and time for accepting forms is legislated and cannot be changed or extended).

The Town does not require a cash deposit to be filed with the nomination application).

Council Organizational Meeting

 

The Advance Voting Days provide an opportunity for residents to vote who otherwise:

  • are unable to attend the polling station on Election Day,
  • because of disability are unable to physically attend a polling station. 

Additional details on Advance Voting procedures will be provided closer to the voting dates.  

In conjunction with the Municipal General Election electors will also be able to vote:

  • for school trustees, 
  • for 3 Provincial Senate Nominees,
  • on a Referendum on equalization payments and daylight saving hours.
